The design competition falls under two distinct categories

Entrants are free to enter either or both categories

Identify Competition The Brief

The Brief – Identify NewActon Nishi

The brief is simple. We are asking you to develop a graphic logo and a visual language that will define our brand name NewActon Nishi.

The key is the message. Your design must respond to Nishis core values of sustainability, affordability and design excellence. How you choose to interpret those words is up to you but like Nishi itself, the answer is bound to be both progressive and flexible, using creative thinking to arrive at a smart solution.

We dont want to buckle you down too much, but you will need to bring a fresh colour palette and use sympathetic typography to tell the story. You might want to compose a slogan or use random words to convey Nishis inner beauty. Photography and illustration will also help bring your ideas to life.

And feel free to add any supporting material if you want to elaborate on your conceptual ideas. We love ideas!

To give you some further food for thought, think about the ways in which your design will be used. There will be brochures, posters, construction hoardings and a website as well. Maybe well make wallpaper for our display suite or project light onto the building itself. The future is in your hands.

Visualise Competition The Brief

The Brief

This is a more philosophical quest.

We want you to visually represent the essence of NewActon Nishi by responding to the question:

What makes a home?

Your response can be expressed using a combination of visual mediums. It might be a painting, illustration or a photograph. Perhaps you prefer using mixed media or want to make a video?

What were looking for is an emotional response. Youll need to capture the synergy between community, environment and architecture. Were looking for superbly crafted imagery that takes into consideration the core intent of the development – sustainability, affordability and design excellence.
